I’m Tommy, I’m the physiotherapist and exercise physiologist see.
Tell us about your background and your fitness journey. Great. Yeah.
So I’m a physiotherapist, also an exercise physiologist. So I went to university for a few years for that. I started out as an elite level swimmer, and decided that I wasn’t going to be an athlete. So I want to help athletes and people with injuries. So I’ve been doing this for about 11 years now and been training about 15 years.
So when or why do members come to see you? So
generally, I would see someone if they’ve hurt themselves, either immediately or with a long term issue. That can be any sort of musculoskeletal injury that they may be dealing with or any muscular aches and pains. I tend to treat from like a holistic perspective. So we sort of like to bring in the physical aspects of someone’s issue, but also maybe the mental barriers that are stopping them from actually progressing well.
What kind of services do you provide?
So basic physiotherapy services, which generally include some hands on treatment, that hands on treatment, generally is some massage, some cupping therapy, we also do dry needling and Western acupuncture. Other services are exercise physiology services. So if you’re a client that or a member that has some sort of metabolic issue like diabetes, or cardiac issues, we can treat them in the gym setting itself with some exercise.
So Tom, how can members book with you?
I have online bookings an online booking system, it’s at WWW dot 40s physiotherapy.net. I’m also here Tuesday to Fridays at the moment, we’re offering a 20 minute initial assessment for all premium members. So essentially, any premium member that signs up will do a full body assessment. And then essentially we’ll look at ongoing appointments if that member needs physiotherapy.
